Giving Links for your Event Sponsors

One of the ways that you can utilize your giving links is to create a link specifically for your Event Sponsors. Not only can you send this link to your potential sponsors, but it streamlines the process for an individual or organization to become a sponsor.

Step One: Set up your sponsorship level designations.

To help a sponsor to choose their level of sponsorship, you will first need to set up your sponsorship level designations. First, click on the Designations tab at the top of your EGS platform.

One tip is to create a folder for your sponsorship level designations. This will help to keep your designations organization. To create a folder click on Add in the Folders’ box.

Next give your folder a name, summary, and a description. You also will want to make sure to uncheck the Include in Catalog box. You want to do this because we only want these designations to be visible on the giving link we’re going to create. Then click on Save at the bottom of the page.

Now it is time to create your designations. The first step is to click on Add in the Designations’ box.

On the next page, give your designation a name and if you would like, a summary and description. Make sure to uncheck the Tax Deducible box. You can use the drop-down box next to Parent Folder to assign this designation to the parent folder you just created. You also will want to make sure to uncheck the Include in Catalog box. Again, you want to do this, because we only want these designations to be visible on the giving link we’re going to create. Then click on Save at the bottom of the page.

Now since each sponsorship level will have a different price point. Under the Advanced Settings, you can include a suggested amount for each of the sponsorship level designations. To add this option, click on your folder, then click to highlight your designation, and click on Edit.

Then click on Advanced Settings from the left-hand side menu. Next to Suggested Amount you can input the amount for that sponsorship level. Then click on Save.

Repeat each of these steps for each sponsorship level.

Step Two: Create your giving link for your Event Sponsors.

After you have created all your needed designations, you are now ready to create your giving link. Under the Tools tab, click on Create Link in the Donate Links’ box.

On Step 1 you will need to give your link a name, use the drop-down box next to theme to choose the theme for this link, and then click on Continue at the bottom of the page.

Step 2 is where we assign the designations that are going to appear on our giving link. Because we want to select the order in which they will appear on our form, we are going to choose to Specify One or More Designations. Then click on the Default folder in the Folders’ box and click to highlight our Sponsors folder. We will then see the designations in this folder appear in the Designations box. Click to highlight the designation you want to be listed first and then click on Select.

You will repeat this step until you have added each designation you want to appear on this giving link. As you select each designation you will see them added to the bottom of the page. When you have finished, click on Continue.

Step 3 is where you can add as much or as little information about each sponsorship level. When you put a check in the Custom Header box you can add custom text to your link. You can also choose to add customized footer text as well. When you have finished click on Continue at the bottom of the page.

On Step 4, the option we recommend for this link is to Allow optional payment note field. This will allow your sponsors to write you a memo if they need to. Put a check in this box to give sponsors this option. Then click on Create Link.

On the next page, you can see your newly creating giving link. You can put this link on your website or use it in a mailing campaign to your potential sponsors. You will also see where you have the option to embed this form on your website. Then click on Continue.

You will see your new link added under the Donate Links box. To view, click to highlight and click on View Link.

Now you have an easy and streamlined way for individuals and organizations to become a sponsor and to track the sponsors that come your way!
