Setting Up Text to Give

Make it even simpler for your donors to give by adding Text to Give on your account. Text to Give gives your Donors access to your giving forms in a matter of seconds. You receive a local number and since EGS is fully integrated you can easily track your donor’s giving patterns. 

 

Step One: Create Designations Specific to Text to Give

Under the Designation Tab create a new Folder called Mobile Campaigns. Give the folder a Summary and Description. When creating this folder please make sure the Include in Catalog option is not checked. Click Save when finished. 

 

 

Next, under the Designation Tab create a new Designation for the whatever you want the mobile campaign to raise money for. Give the Designation a Name, Summary, and Description. If you want this designation included on Tax Receipts, make sure to check that box.  Also make sure to uncheck the box Include in Catalog box and make sure that the Parent Folder is the Mobile Campaign folder that you just created. Click Save to create the designation. 

 

 

Step Two-Create Your Custom Text to Give Link

Under the Tools tab create a custom link using the Donate Link Wizard. On the first page, give your link a name and choose the Biggest, Bestest, most Awesomest giving form. On the second page of the wizard select the option “Specify One of More Designations”. Choose your Mobile campaign folder on the left and then highlight your designation on the right and click select and then click on continue. On the third step you can create custom header and footer text. You can also decide what the amount your suggested donation buttons will be and choose the default amount.  On the fourth page click on Create Link.

Step Three- Response to Donor after sending a Text

Send an email to [e-mail] and let us know what response you wish donors to receive after they send you a text. The response can simple be, “Thank you for going Mobile. Complete your gift here.” We then will provide you with a local number you can give to your donors.
